WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD

Purpose and Objectives

The Workforce Development Board (WDB) acts with equal authority with the Kings County Board of Supervisors in the setting of basic goals, policies and procedures for programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The WDB exercises oversight responsibilities, recommends an administrative plan to the Board of Supervisors, and provides input regarding employment, training, and related services in the Workforce Development Area.

Membership Composition

The Board consists of twenty-five (25) members comprised of the following:
• Business Representatives
• Community Based Organizations Representatives
• Economic Development Agency Representatives
• Education Representatives (Secondary & Post-Secondary)
• Labor Representatives
• One-Stop Job Center Partners
