PERSONNEL APPEALS BOARD

Purpose and Objectives

The Personnel Appeals Board has the function of:
• Hearing discharge and other disciplinary appeals in accord with procedures set forth in Board rules
• Hearing administrative appeals and grievances in accord with procedures set forth in Board rules
• Hearing allegations of discrimination in accord with procedures set forth in Board rules

Membership Composition

This board shall be comprised of seven (7) members, and seven (7) alternates, for a total of fourteen (14) representatives. Representatives are appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors shall appoint three (3) primary members and up to (3) alternate members biennially:
• County Member and Alternate
• Employee Member and Alternate (one from each recognized bargaining unit)
• Consensus Member and Alternate
