The purpose of Kings County Elections Department’s participation in social media is to enhance communication, collaboration, information exchange, and transparency. The Kings County Elections Department endorses the secure use of social media to enhance and support the departments goals and objectives.

The Kings County Elections Department makes use of social media to engage residents, to learn about needs and concerns, to contribute to relevant conversations, and to promote the Election Departments programs and services. Despite efforts to keep the department-provided information timely and accurate, users should be aware that the information available through this social media tool may not be timely, accurate, or complete. No communication to the Kings County Elections Department through social media shall be deemed to constitute legal or official notice for any purpose. The Kings County Elections Department disclaims any responsibility or liability for any misstatement, misunderstanding, and losses, directly or indirectly, on the part of the users.

There is no endorsement, implied or otherwise, by the Kings County Elections Department of any fan posts, links, or photos. Site administrators/writers/fans are fully responsible for the content they submit. Opinions expressed by site administrators/writers/fans are not the opinions of the Kings County Elections Department. The Kings County Elections Department social media sites are intended to serve as a mechanism for communication between the public and the Kings County Elections Department on the listed topics. Any comments submitted to the Kings County Elections Department social media sites are public records subject to disclosure pursuant to CA Government Code§ 6250 et seq. Users or comments should be aware that the Kings County Elections Department social media sites are not closely monitored, so any comments may only be received sporadically, if at all.

  • Proprietary information or intellectual property that is posted without the approval of the owner. Copyrighted or trademarked images or graphics. Imagery not owned by the user.
  • Comments on matters unrelated to the subject matter of the social media page; which include but are not limited to the Kings County Elections Department, County boards, committees or programs, policies, operations, or general areas of responsibility and representation.
  • Information that may compromise the safety or security of the public, public officials, or public systems.
  • Information that violates a local, state, or federal law or suggests or encourages illegal activity.

Users participate at their own risk, and are personally responsible for their own comments, username, and any information provided.
