The County of Kings is seeking individuals to assist in working at voting locations. To sign up to work the next election; complete the linked application below.

To work the election, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • A registered California voter or legal resident of the United States who would be eligible to vote except for your citizenship status
  • Be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English
  • Attend mandatory training classes prior to each election 
  • Have access to transportation

Are You Bilingual?

The County of Kings is actively recruiting bilingual poll workers to serve their communities. We need your help if you are fluent in English and any of the following languages:

  • Spanish
  • Tagalog

Positions

Inspectors 

Receive $200 per day and be available to start working at a Vote Location starting 11 days before Election Day. Inspectors are the leaders/supervisors of the Vote Location and assigned Clerks. They are responsible for knowing how to operate the Vote Location equipment, communicate regularly with the Elections office, and ensure all procedures are being followed.

  • Receive and check election supplies 
  • Prepare, open, maintain and close the Vote Center each day
  • Enforce and follow state and federal laws by performing tasks as instructed
  • Ensure equipment is set-up and operated properly 
  • Assign tasks and breaks
  • Issue and receive official ballots from the voters
  • Return ballots and supplies to assigned drop-off site nightly
  • Attend mandatory training classes with the Elections Department
Clerks

Receive $150 per day and be available to start working at a Vote Location starting 11 days before Election Day. A clerk works under the direction of the Inspector.

  • Prepare, open, maintain and close the Vote Location each day
  • Enforce and follow state and federal laws by performing tasks as instructed
  • Issue and receive official ballots from the voters
  • Attend mandatory training classes with the Elections Department
