Agricultural Commissioner Declares the End of the Chandler Walnut Harvest
Kings County Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures, Tim Niswander, in accordance with Kings County Ordinance 662.1 declares the end of the Chandler harvest of walnuts to be Midnight October 31, 2014. As of November 1, the Buying Period for walnuts may commence.
A “Proof of Ownership Certificate” is still required for any transaction between any non-processing walnut buyers and sellers. Growers or homeowners needing Proof of Ownership Certificates for themselves or their gleaners need to contact the Agricultural Commissioner’s office at (559) 852-2830, or stop by and pick them up at 680 N. Campus Drive, Suite B in Hanford.
