December 9, 2016, 2 P.M.
Public Works Conference Room
NOTICE: In Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you require a modification or accommodation to participate in this meeting, including agenda or other materials in an alternative format, please contact the ADA Coordinator at (559) 852-2700 (California Relay 711) by 3:00 p.m. the Wednesday prior to the meeting.
I. Call to Order
II. Unscheduled Appearances: Any person may address the committee on any subject matter within the jurisdiction or responsibility of the committee at the beginning of the meeting; or may elect to address the committee on any agenda item at the time the item is called by the chairperson, but before the matter is acted upon by the committee. Unscheduled comments will be limited to five minutes.
III. Standing Items:
A. Transition Plan: ADA Coordinator will provide an update on progress toward completing the Transition Plan, including funding issues. The ADA Coordinator may also consult with the committee regarding access alternatives where the cost to remove an access barrier substantially outweighs the benefits of doing so.
B. Technology Update: A member of IT staff will provide an update on efforts to access and improve accessibility of County’s technology, and describe next steps.
C. Report on County Counsel Activities: The ADA Coordinator will disseminate and summarize a written report from County Counsel regarding that office’s activities in implementing the Self-Evaluation.
D. Self-Evaluation Implementation: Other committee members may report on their activities in implementing the Self-Evaluation, and are asked to identify commitments to take other actions by the next meeting of the committee. The committee should also discuss options for ensuring that evidence of compliance with the Self-Evaluation, including meeting minutes, are maintained in a manner so as to be available in case of an audit by any state or federal agency, and for publishing policies that result from the implementation process in the Kings County Policy Manual.
IV. Future Meetings: The next meeting will be held March 10, 2017, at 2 pm. The committee may discuss items for future agenda at this time.
